The books of 1 and 2 Samuel trace the life of David, Israel's greatest king. Starting as a humble shepherd, David rose to become a warrior who defeated rival nations. He was known as "a man after God’s own heart." However, his personal sins led to  destruction. Through his victories and failures, David  is an incredible person to emulate yet still foreshadows a greater king yet to come!
